Ductless Mini-Splits

A ductless heat pump or air conditioner pairs a wall-mounted indoor unit with an outdoor compressor. It's a great fit anywhere you'd consider a window unit or baseboard heat, like a new addition, a garage, or a workshop.
Unlike window units, ductless systems need only a very small hole in the wall, so they're less prone to air leaks and security problems. They're also quieter and less visible. In the average house, you can lose 25 percent or more of your energy to ductwork, so skipping the ducts makes for a more efficient system. And their inverter-driven compressors speed up and slow down as needed instead of shutting off completely.
